Zoo Edition

Since the University I attend is currently in Spring Break Mode, I have a week of no classes and a very small amount of homework. I was able to spend some time to finally go sightseeing, which is always a great experience. Today's adventure took me to the San Francisco Zoo, where I was able to capture some of the animals starting their mornings.

Figure Drawing Studies

One of my classes this semester is all about figure drawing, it's really paying off, since my proportions where always where I struggled. I've personally been seeing a lot of improvement, especially since I have always struggled more with realism.
As well as one of many 20 minute sketches I first started
out doing.

One of many 10 minute sketches.
1 hour sketch and 1st attempt at adding shading.

Another 1 hour sketch, second go at shading. The arms are off on this one, but
a little more practice and I'll get it!

1 hour sketch, started shading, but still a long way to go.

This one spanned over 2 hours, I spent more time on the proportion and gesture.

1st homework assignment of the semester, I worked on it for a couple of days,
this is the third attempt at this particular picture I had to recreate. This time I
need to work on figuring out feet. Mainly shadows on the face, I didn't go into
a lot of detail.

Inspired by a song of the same name, Cantarella, and my love of masquerade masks.
I've been a tad inactive with this site, and so now I'm getting back into action. It's my second semester attending college, and I've seen a huge improvement in my drawing skills, especially with drawing the human form, there will be many more additions to my portfolio.

Merry Christmas

A quick sketch I decided to do, I couldn't make up my mind which scan I wanted to use, so I went ahead and used both. I picked Azreth this year, since last year I used my other character to make a Christmas  e-card, so this year was his turn to be Santa.

And since I also showcase photography here, I went ahead and made this as well.
